Poi editor for IGo or Mio
A handy tool that lets you manage your IGo or Miomap POIs directly from your desktop. Drag and drop .kml, .kmz, .gpx, .csv, .ov2 etc. files to iGo explorer. Your Mio needs to be unlocked, and you must have access to your Mio with ActiveSync. Igo user can use this software without any modifications you only need ActiveSync to connect to your pda. Create new POI groups, manage excisting poi's, change name or location of pio's and import new PIO groups.
Download here. (requires .Net Framework 2.0).

| Tip: with this site you can convert any address to longitude and latitude coordinates. This is very useful if you want to create a POI file with several entries. |

Is there any way, using the PoI Editor, to modify the EXISTING database that comes with the Mio C310x, specifically the HOME and WORK locations. I've imported the iGo.db file from \My Flash Disk\MioMap\MioMap, but it only seems to show my personal POI's (that I entered myself). I cannot find any other files that look like they might be database files, but I know they're there somewhere. Thanks for any insight.
Hi Steve,
As far as i know there is no tool for editing the existing database. The home and work locations are saved in the igo.db, the igo.db is an SQLite database so maybe it's possible to edit the database with an sql tool. As soon as i have found a tool or an option to edit this database then i will publish this here.

Where can I find more information about this?
Thank you very much

Can you add the *.bmp provided with the *ov2 file to the IGO.db as well?
I can't find out how to do this...
After saving the edited POIs back to my iGo 2006 Plus database, it corrupts the data in some way, so the program won't start anymore. I use v1.0.637.
I did a little research myself, and found out that the data in the database (SQLite, www.sqlite.org - you can download the program there) is obfuscated. However, I discovered a couple of handy hints:
Trick 1: Moving the database to the SD card
--------------------------------------------------------
By default, iGO stores the user data in the main PDA memory (usually "\My Documents\iGO 2006\igo.db"). occupying the valuable space. It's a good idea to move it to the SD card.
1. Shut down iGO.
2. Copy the igo.db from "\My Documents\iGO 2006\igo.db" somewhere to your SD card, e.g. "\Storage Card\Program Files\iGO\igo.db". Remember that path, since you will have to set in the registry.
3. Using a registry editor on your PDA change the "HKLM\SOFTWARE\iGO 2006\userdata" to point to the new path (in our case "\Storage Card\Program Files\iGO\igo.db"
That's it.
Trick 2: Compacting the database
-------------------------------------------
The igo.db database tends to grow over time, occupying the space and fragmenting the data stored there. There is a simple way of compacting it:
1. Locate the igo.db file on your PDA and make a backup copy of it.
2. Download sqlite binary build for your platform, from http://www.sqlite.org/download.html. I use Windows, but the same method is applicable for Linux and others.
3. Extract the archive somewhere to your PC. E.g. "C:\Work\iGO" and locate the executable. For Windows it is "sqlite3.exe".
4. Copy the igo.db from your PDA to the PC to "C:\Work\iGO".
5. Go to "C:\Work\iGO" and create a COMPACT.BAT file with the following contents:
del temp.db
echo .dump | sqlite3 igo.db | sqlite3 temp.db
move /y temp.db igo.db
6. Run COMPACT.BAT to compact the igo.db file.
7. Copy the new igo.db back to the PDA.
Do not forget to make a backup of the original file, if something goes wrong!

Hi,
Is it possible to edit the IGO maps ? I need to correct the position of my city map here where I live in Brazil. For the big cities everything works good but here in Rio Grande it seems to be wrong by about 300 meters for every address I try.
So I was thinking to find a way to correct that just for my city.
How can I do that?
Thanks in advance
Darci

I have IGO files with .fbl and .poi extension.
Igopoiexplorer couldn't read these files ? is there any way to convert or read these files ?
It is easy to transfer custom POI files into Mio but how can custom icons be imported as well? Plus, how can a custom audible warning be set up?
Wherever I look, NOBODY seems to know the answer to these seemingly simple questions because nearly EVERY other type of Sat Nav software has these facilities, so why doesn't Mio?.
Any help on this subject would be VERY gratefully appreciated.
i bought an sdcard but when i try to copy it says CANNOT COPY *.fbl
HOw do i copy it!?!?
Hi i couldn't find the igo.db in my device . I tried to earch everywhere but i couldn't find it.
is there anyway to extract the POI from 2006 map to form new kml file to be added to igo 8 map?
Ashus on 05.09.2008. 20:28
Hi, I've made a new POI editor today. It can import/export/convert/edit POIs in groups. Supported file formats: iGO poi explorer *.csv, Google maps *.kml and iGO8 *.upoi files. Check it out at http://poi.ashus.net/
